This cartoon drawing shows a man who is stating that he knows about the genocide going on in Darfur. He believes that one person can make a difference, but it is not going to be him. He is in a recliner with snacks, so this drawing is quite provocative. He is just going wait for someone else to step up to the plate and help stop the genocide, when he is being a hypocrite by not doing anything even when he said that anyone can. If you are so passionate about something as drastic as a genocide of a people, then you should not rely on others to stop it when you even think that every little thing you do can help. This add was mostly the raise awareness about the issue in Darfur and how If you know that this is happening, there is probably a way for you to help, even if it only small. This man is demonstrating the stereotypical American because we tend to ignore huge issues that are going on on the other side of the world because they are not affecting us. Global crises really are affecting us all even if it does not seem like it, so you should take action in your school or community.
